"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life."

About London

London is the capital and major city of England. Situated on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two thousand years. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium. The inner core contains the City of London, mainly retaining the original 2230square mile boundary from medieval times. The last 200 or so years, "London" has also referred to the metropolotian area surrounding the inner circle. The area is split between Middlesex, Essex, Surrey, Kent, and Hertfordshire, combining to create what is known as Greater London. The Mayor of London and the London Assembly govern the area.
